Bunker Delivery Operations Commence in Chancay

Bunker delivery operations have commenced at the Port of Chancay, Peru, marking an expansion of fuel supply capabilities in the region. The initial delivery involved Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) to a container vessel.

The operation saw the supply of 740 metric tonnes of VLSFO. This fuel was transferred from a tanker with a storage capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes, facilitating the first such delivery at the new port location.

This development signifies an expansion of bunkering services within Peru. The Port of Chancay is situated approximately 75 kilometres north of Callao and is emerging as a notable maritime centre on the Pacific coast, supporting shipping and international trade activities.

Existing bunkering operations in Peru include services at the Port of Callao. Two tankers are currently deployed there, with capacities of 20,000 DWT and 16,000 DWT respectively.

These vessels support continuous bunker delivery services. The product portfolio available to the Peruvian market encompasses High Sulphur Fuel Oil (HSFO 3.5%s), Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO 0.5%s), and Low Sulphur Marine Gas Oil (LSMGO 0.1%s).
